![Make the Most of your Mid Day Naps]()
When it comes to napping, how long you nap is everything.
A recent study in the research journal sleep found a 10 minute nap produced the most benefit when it came to reducing sleepiness and improving cognitive performance. Napping too long or too much can have a negative effect on sleep patterns and cause sleep inertia---which are feelings of grogginess or disorientation experienced after waking up from a deep sleep. The best advice is to get enough sleep each night to keep naps at a minimum. Remember to keep your naps under 30 minutes. It limits you from sleeping too deep and makes it easier for you to continue to be productive throughout the day!
