Holiday parties don't necessarily have to be filled with stress. The American Psychological Association says while many Americans look forward to spending time with their loved ones during the holidays many also feel responsible for making sure everyone is happy. Cleveland clinic psychologist doctor Scott Bea says party planning can put a damper on your celebration. He suggests rather than doing everything yourself. Dole out responsibilities; such as a potluck where guests bring their own dishes to cut down on the cooking. You can set up stations with board games or karaoke as ways for guests to entertain themselves, and don't be afraid to ask for a little help at the end of the night. Remember we tend to put more pressure on ourselves to plan the perfect holiday get together than our friends and family do, so make sure you step back and enjoy the festivities.
