Battling Against Breast Cancer

Finding out you've been diagnosed with breast cancer can be devastating to you and those close to you. But for Maggie Hammond, she's turned her multiple breast cancer battles into a positive journey. Maggie was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in February 2009. After receiving chemotherapy, radiation and a double mastectomy, her breast cancer went into remission in December of that year. Routine testing in July of this year confirmed the cancer had returned. Maggie’s taking every day one day at a time with family and close friends nearby. Family friend Nicole Solomon is so moved by Maggie’s battle, she's organized a zumbathon and a 5k fun run on November 22nd to help Maggie with medical and travel expenses.
