Get ready to jump! No I’m not talking about jumping jacks or box jumps, I’m talking about jump fitness on a trampoline! Get fit Bocanegra fitness couple David and Patti Bocanegra have been instructing cardio kick boxing classes at melba's dance studio for the past 4 years. Butthey were looking to spice up their weekly work out classes. “We saw some videos and they looked awesome. It looked like a challenge the high jumps and we couldn't find any place locally nearby that had the class to be offered so we ordered some trampolines and gave it a shot,” explains Patti Bocanegra, Get Fit Bocanegra. Jump has exploded in European countries, but the fad hasn't made a huge impression in the U.S. yet. This intense cardio workout targets large lower muscle groups like thighs, glutes and core on a low impact surface. And just 30 minutes of the heart pumping, kicking, jumping and toe tapping can burn up to three times more calories than running. “It works your entire body, every muscle fiber in your body and it's easier on your joints, your knees, your back,” says David Bocanegra, Get Fit Bocanegra instructor. Fitness enthusiast Roxy Perez, who has been taking the classes since get fit Bocanegra started offering them almost two months ago, is seeing results. “I'm shrinking in the right places my hips are going lower, you see your butt is firming up, because that’s what you're using a lot, so as you're jumping you can feel the pain on that area. So I feel everything is going back into place!” says Roxy Perez, Get Fit Bocanegra student. The workout is intense, but David says setting your own pace and showing up is the most important part.
