A Sauna a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

Hopping into the sauna may add years to your life. A new Finnish study finds men that used the sauna more often had reduced their risk for fatal cardiovascular events like heart attack and stroke and death. They found of the twenty three hundred men studied, men that took saunas four to seven times a week actually lived longer than men who only visited the sauna once a week. They decreased their risk of sudden cardiac death by 63 percent and cut their for cardiovascular diseases in half. To start seeing some heart healthy benefits, experts recommend hitting the sauna two or three times a week for 11 to 20 minutes.
