Blood donations are low this summer in South Texas, but there’s an opportunity for you to help.
United Blood Services and Harley Davidson have teamed up for its 7th annual Bikers Have Heart Blood Drive.
They will be at both Harley Davidson locations in McAllen and San Benito all day tomorrow and Saturday ready for you to donate blood.
High schools across the Valley contribute 40 of the donated blood to the United Blood Service.
But with schools out for the summer, donation services are struggling to maintain blood supply for all 18 hospitals.
To donate, volunteers must be at least 16 years old, weighing a minimum of 110 and must be in good health.
Doctors will do a simple on-site health check before any blood is collected.
Those 16 years old must have signed consent from parents.
Remember, one blood donation can save up to three lives so be sure to stop by tomorrow and Friday whether you ride on two wheels or four!
