The U.S Department of Agriculture says a Texas based company is recalling nearly ninety one thousand pounds of beef products that may have been contaminated with metal.
Corpus Christi based company Sam Kane Beef Processors is doing the recall after receiving 4 consumer complaints about pieces of metal in their meat, about 3 millimeters in size.
The recalled packages were sold in HEB stores and are packaged in three, five and ten pound amounts. The packages are labeled HEB Ground Chuck containing 73 percent lean and 27 percent fat. Sam Kane Beef also produced ground chuck formed into patties.
The products all bear the number 337 inside the USDA mark of inspection. These packages were produced between September 9th and September 18th with sell by dates between September 29th and October 8th.
The USDA advises anyone with questions or concerns to call the USDA Meat and Poultry hotline at 1-888-674-6854 or visit USDA.gov.
