Running and working out after sun goes down is something many of us do, but there are ways to do it more safely to avoid harm. Number one, wear reflective and bright clothing and wear lights so that drivers can see you. Run on the left side of the road, that way both you and drivers can see you coming. And don't listen to music. Not being able to hear what is going on around you could be a potential danger. Run in well lit or populated areas like parks or trails in busy neighborhoods. Run with someone. A friend, relative or your significant other will not only keep you motivated but ward off any strange or dangerous situations. And most importantly, pay attention to your surroundings. Be cautious of who is around you. Trust your instincts and leave or move away if something does not feel right.
