Texas health officials are now investigating numerous cases of people being sickened by an outbreak of a rare intestinal illness known as cyclospora.
Cyclospora is most commonly contracted by eating food or drinking water contaminated with human or animal feces containing the cyclospora parasite.
More than 35 Texans have been sickened by the parasite and infections have been discovered in Wisconsin and Illinois as well.
Symptoms include weight loss, stomach cramps, nausea, body aches and fatigue-which can last up to two months.
Investigators are still attempting to identify the exact source of the outbreak but they suspect raw vegetables and fruits.
